From one of the visitors of the forum, Theo van Loon, we received a response to the lectures of Maaike Bleeker and Bojana Cvejic. Click here to read his article.
In his response to Maaike Bleeker Theo van Loon agrees with her central point, being that what we think we see is a far-reaching interpretation of our sensory perceptions. However, he objects to her use of texts and concepts from Brian Massumi and Ludwig Wittgenstein.
He has little confidence in the proposals of Bojana Cvejic. For a new role for a dramaturge in a dance company, marked by, from his side, ignorance of dance. See the title of her lecture, The Ignorant Dramaturg. She is convinced that knowledge of the traditional dance terminology is a hindrance for new developments. Theo van Loon wonders how an ignorant person can obtain the trust of a choreographer and the dancers. Furthermore, he objects to the, in his opinion, over-pretentious terminology of Cvejic.
